SQUALE WATCHES 50 ATMOS BRONZE ANTHRACITE - LIMITED EDITION
65 pieces World wide, Last one!
The Squale 50 ATMOS Bronzo Anthracite - Limited Edition is powered by the industry workhorse, ETA2824-2 automatic movement, which is probably one of the most reliable movement available now.
What makes the 50 ATMOS Bronzo so attractive is of course the bronze case. As Italian brands started the whole bronze frenzy. This whole new case from Squale is made entirely in Italy. Those with a keen eye will probably notice the close resemblance of the case composition to the major brands that probably cost 5 times the Squale. The case measures 42mm wide, 49.5mm lug-to-lug, and 14mm thick (16mm including crystal). It’s a watch with a lot of wrist presence, but the rather short lug-to-lug case makes this watch ultra wearable even on the smallest of wrist. Compared to the stainless steel sibling, the bronze has a 1mm wider case and beefier lugs for a more masculine look.
The beautiful 3 piece case consists of the bezel, mid case and caseback. Starting from the top, the new bezel has an all new bezel knurling design for better grip even in wet conditions. What really stands out is the 2 piece bezel. The bezel is bronze and the bezel inlay is made from a separate piece of bronze. The only reason why is this done this way is so that Squale can play with a mixture of finishing through the case, bezel and bezel insert. The watch employs a total of 4 finishing throughout the case, from heavier satin brushed on the side of the case to medium satin brushed on the top of the case to the light circular brushing on the bezel inlay. What these finishings provide is that they allow the case to catch different amount of light depending on the finishing, for an exquisite look.
The dial is another point of distinction. The anthracite dial is done with a sunburst effect. And to give the dial depth and dimensions, Squale has recessed the edge of the dial with a ring of stamped guilloche. This time round, Squale has also employed the used of large applied index. The new set of hands are sandblasted and finished in bronze for a matching looks. The stark contrast between the sunburst dial, guilloche ring, applied index, matte hands and light satin brushed bronze bezel insert really gives the watch quite a charm that is only possible through minute details. Ultimately, it is really all about the details in watches isn't it?
Good amount of SuperLuminova C3 is used on the dial for a good glow in the dark. The numbers on the bronze bezel insert are also engraved and filled with luminous for in the dark operations, though they do not glow as well as the dial. But good to have and good to know it is there.
With functionality in mind, the Squale's new bronze model is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on the inside to ensure maximum readability regardless of lighting conditions.
The Squale 50 ATMOS Bronzo is fitted with a matching dark mocha leather strap. Finished with a whipstitched stitching for that classic look. Crafted with gorgeous Italian made calf leather, the strap is handcrafted from start to finish and will develop a lovely patina with every use.
The introduction of the Squale 50 ATMOS Bronzo Anthracite - Limited Edition is certainly an insight to the design language of future Squale models that are to come. This highly beautiful model and limited edition status is certainly going to find its way into many Squale collector's collection. One of the few bronze watches that are made in such a size that is meant for everyday wear.
